Ahhhh!! I'm in a dilemma! I'm confused! I'm lack of time! Application for University is closing soon. Rightfully, I only left with 1 day to decide. Business or Electrical & Electronics Engineering?
Question is not that simple.
Which is better?
-In terms of job prospects
-In terms of pay
-In terms of working environment
-In terms of employability
These are just few of the many questions I have been asking myself over and over again. Each has its pros and cons afterall.
Business, it seems to be easier to get a job now. Moreover, it seems to have a higher chance of getting higher post with higher pay. However, there are huge amount of students taking business, will it cause an overload of business graduates in the years to come? If it is so, the competition would be though and how am I going to compete? Furthermore, it seems that economic is going to experience a slow down soon, business sector will be a direct hit and business graduates would have trouble finding jobs. And lastly, engineers can also take on manager positions and receive a higher pay.
Engineering(EEE), I will confirm acquire the skills and I can venture into different types of jobs. However, people say that it is quite difficult to get a job with an EEE degree. Starting pay is okay but difficult to work onto higher levels. Somemore, I would need to compete with the large amount of foreign talents holding engineering certs who ask for lower pay. However, when the economic go down, engineers may not be so hardly hit. And as there are lesser people going to be engineers, there may be a higher demand for engineers and thus regaining it's popularity.
I won't be able to predict how the economic will be like 6 years later, but at least try to predict. I'm afraid that there would be an overload of business grads and as lesser engineers around, more engineers are wanted, thus a higher standing for engineers.
That's why I don't know which one i should put as my first choice. Unless business don't accept me then no choice la. But just take it as both accept, which one should i choose? I have interest for both course. Taking business will deprive me of learning electronics stuffs that I'm interested in and also a skill. While taking EEE will deprive me of the chance to apply for jobs that require a business degree. But like what my father say, you do not have to really study for general business. Once you got your working experience, you will learn it on the way. So what for a degree in business that is so general? The degree only act as a stepping stone to get a job.
arghh!!
Now my father suggest me to get a double degree in business and accounting to get an edge over the others. Most prob I won't get in with my grades. But if i get in, I'm afraid that I won't be able to cope with it.
How!!!

Posting time! 2 weeks since I posted. Was too busy last week. As in, really busy until I was almost late for reporting back to academy.
Anyway, last week was quite a nice week as we got our ippt on monday morning and I got a GOLD! It is so dam difficult to get a GOLD for ippt. It's totally different from napfa gold! Then, we had our shooting session and I got my marksmanship back! I failed the previous session but finally got my title back! Wahoo!! My squad achieved 20 golds for ippt out of 40 members and this broke the record in the academy! We were then entitled the privilege to go cafeteria! And we are allowed to go Multi-purpose Hall everyday for sports.
But then we have to remember, "not everyday is a Sunday". It was a nice week but it was also a bad week. Firstly, we get pumped for nothing. We came back from Old PA after some counting money work and we reached our camp quite late. By right, we go not need to attend the mass PT session and it's not in the timetable. But then, while we were questioning why our toilet got blocked by a message pasted on the door that says "Toilet for FI use ONLY. No entry to trainees", one dam idiotic guy that we suspected that he was an abused child came. Let's just name the person 'faggot'. That faggot luckily holds a dam high rank through some underhand methods and loves to make full use of his authority. He came to our barracks and saw us being so happy, he made us rush down and made us do 60 push ups on the spot. He punished us before even asking us why we never go for mass PT. Then finally he asked and we replied him. He then called our FI and our FI screwed him up. (fyi, my FI rank is much lower than his)
That is just one of it. We kena quite a few unknown punishments also. Then on day, I decided to go visit the cafeteria with my squad mate. It was the first time we go there and we do not know which way to go. Since alvin was going to jog, we followed him to walk by the road. And suay enough, the DO came down and punished us for walking instead of marching. Then banned us from going to the cafeteria. He thought that we know which way to go and he thought that we were running away from him and he thought that we were trying to challenge him. -.-" We did not have any chance to explain at all. That was dam suay and really spoilt my mood for the whole day.
Then next, I was supposed to do sentry duty on friday. But since A level results release on friday, we get to walk out in the afternoon. So i couldn't do the afternoon shift for sentry. I thought it was okay to continue my sentry and just do the morning shift. But suay suay, i kena from my OC and got scolded like siao. It seems like I got scolded for being hardworking -.-" And she made me write 2 pages of essay.
All these really made me dam moody the whole week including the worry for my results. Was released at 12.30pm on friday and rushed to school for results. I've done quite alright and these are my results:
GP : B
H1 Econs: A
H2 Maths: C
H2 Physics: A
H2 Chemistry: B
I would say I've achieved all my aims for 4 of the subjects except for Maths. Aimed for an A but got a C instead. So, strictly speaking, I only flunked my maths =\
I'm dam happy with my GP as I got a B. I thought I will not achieve my aim and I would be getting a C. BUT yays! I got a B!!!
Now, I'm deciding which course I want and see whether they want me or not.
Okay, now go on to this week. A dam slack week. We do not even have any PT session at all! No exercise! We have our drill test, psoc test and shooting. Still maintaining my marksmanship and passed my other 2 test, should be. =X
Okay, I'm dam tired now, update more hopefully tml. i go koon liao.. bb!! cya ppl!
